String Camp "Praise Him With Stringed Instruments" 2023, under the direction of Kent Dykstra, started on Wednesday, 20 December.
Participants from Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and Singapore are working hard to prepare for the concerts.
The first concert will take place on Saturday, 23 December in the Southern River church building at 504 Southern River Road in Southern River. It begins at 7 PM.
The second concert will be a sing-along concert on Sunday evening 24 December, Christmas Eve, in the Kelmscott church building at 318 Lake Road, Champion Lakes. This concert will be live-streamed at the
YouTube channel of the Free Reformed Church of Kelmscott. It will begin at 7 PM.
Our first String Camp with Mr. Kent Dykstra took place in December 2018. We are organising another camp, which is scheduled for Wednesday 20 - Saturday 23 December 2023 in the metro Perth area. Mr. Dykstra has been contacted and he is willing again to lead this camp.
String Camp 'Praise Him with Stringed Instruments' 2023
Calling all string players from the Free Reformed Churches of Australia and sister churches to come together for a week of music making and fellowship. Whether you are 7 or 70, just started lessons or have been playing for decades, come and join us from Wednesday 20 December till Saturday 23 December 2023.
The exciting part of string camp "Praise Him with Stringed Instruments" is that musicians of all levels get the experience of playing together, not only in small ensembles, but also in one 'mass' orchestra.
Our name "Praise Him with Stringed Instruments" comes from Psalm 150 : 4 (NKJV), and is also the title of three CD's which Kent Dykstra produced, after previous Reformed String Camps in Canada.
Kent Dykstra lives in British Columbia, Canada. We are glad to have him as our director, this year again.
This year we also have invited string players from our sister churches in New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa, and Canada.
